Steps

  1. Pick a mailbox address that supports PMB and couriers.
  2. Complete Form 1583 with two valid IDs; use an online notary if away.
  3. Handle vehicle registration/insurance; some carriers require a garaging address.
  4. Keep records of time spent in SD and key documents.

What a Mailbox Does / Doesn’t Do

It gives you a stable mailing address plus scans and forwarding. It’s not a registered agent and doesn’t by itself prove domicile—retain supporting evidence.
